Wedding Dove Release

The dove was the sacred animal of Aphrodite and Venus, the goddesses of love….

In the ancient cultures, the groom would give a dove to the bride, symbolizing his promise to help care for her and for the family. Today, doves are a blessing for the bride and groom. Doves pair up for life, so they are a true representation of love and the eternal commitment that a couple has made to each other.

DFW Dove Release can help you create that dramatic element to the end of your wedding ceremony.

To enhance the dove release experience, we have compiled a few poems for our customers to choose from and have read at the release. The poems are printed on beautiful stationary to be kept as a souvenire. Below is one sample. A personal poem or exerpt may also be used instead. For a complete sampling please contact us.

The releasing of doves raises our eyes up, and fills our hearts with joy and peace.

For many centuries, the white dove has been an emblem of peace, love, fidelity and new beginnings. Doves mate for life and as a romantic gesture, _____and____ are now going to release these two pure white doves.

The doves will fly upwards and circle above us a few times, then fly home together, as a pair. This symbolizes our newlywed couple setting off on their journey in life together, in harmony.

The flock will then be released to join them as a gesture of all of your support, love and best wishes in helping them to begin their new life together.

____and____, we wish for you, that your life together will be long, happy, rich and rewarding. May your marriage carry with it all the wonderful qualities that the white dove represents.
